PATHWAYS TO LICENSURE

School Pathway

Training Hours: 350

Complete 350 hours in a Board-approved esthetics school curriculum. Applicants follow the Board's examination and proficiency requirements, including the NIC esthetics testing pathway. Scope is cosmetic and nonmedical and is limited to procedures permitted by the Board's current Esthetics Procedures List. Licenses renew biennially; no routine practitioner continuing-education requirement was identified. Out-of-state applicants should use the Board's current endorsement or waiver process and document substantially equivalent education, examination, and licensure.

Apprenticeship Pathway

Training Hours: 350

A Board-approved esthetics apprenticeship may substitute for school and requires the same 350-hour curriculum and proficiency requirements.
